Life had not been easy for Mckenna. If it wasn't bad enough her entire family had been slaughtered by an old powerful vampire, but he had taken her for a slave - imprisoned her. Then, if that wasn't bad enough, she was sold, autioned, and passed around when she refused to obey. She had been eighteen when she was taken and twenty five years old now. It had been so many years that by this point Mckenna was starting to feel weary. At this point she didn't know who her master was anymore, and honestly, it probably didn't matter anyway. They were all cruel - some more then others - with massive egos and a gluttony for blood. Life never mattered to them except their own. She hadn't felt kindness in years. She hadn't been able to grieve in a normal manner, and she had been alone all this time. No friends. No romantic interest. No family. A twenty five year old virgin. Entirely pure - not even a first kiss.
It wasn't as if Mckenna would just sleep with anyone or kiss anyone just for the sake of it. No, deep down she was a romantic at heart. She wanted her first kiss to be with a man who loved her and she loved in return. She wanted to wait until marriage to loose her innocence. Thus far she had been forced to fight to retain not only her purity but her blood. Vampires were disgusting creatures. All they ever wanted was blood, sex, and power. None of them were different. Well, there was one... One who she could just sense had a beautiful soul inside. He had just been through so many bad times that he had reverted to the typical vampire state. Tristan. Mckenna did have a crush on him, but of course she would not act upon it. She was too shy, and besides even if she somehow got a chance to interact with him why would he ever choose to settle down with her? He was out of her league, and she didn't doubt that any man would not want a female defective.
The cell was cold. The floor, walls, and ceiling were concrete. She hadn't felt the wind or sun in years so she knew there were no windows. All cells were the same except what dirt, urine, and other human liquids ( like sweat, sick, excrement ) covering the floor and walls. Sometimes there were cobwebs too as well as bugs - Mckenna tried really hard not to think about bugs. Fortunately most of the time that sort of wildlife stayed away from her. After all, being able to change into animal she gave off the animal sense of being a threat so they steered clear of her. Sometimes leftover food was left in the cells also. Blood was there as well whether it was from punishment, being attacked, or being drank from. Well... there was also self inflicted, but that was rare since slaves didn't really get a chance to have anything let alone something to be used as a weapon.
A deep sigh left Mckenna's full lips, her knees pressed against her generous bust with her arms wrapped around her legs. She didn't know the day or time at this point. Her time was spent awake or asleep. She slept when she was exhausted, and was awake the rest. She had no sense of morning, afternoon, or night. No sense of time either. Fortunately she had supernatural senses so to stop getting bored she could listen to the floors above her as well as feel them moving around at times. She would have escaped before now if she didn't have the dreaded collar around her neck which was preventing her from shifting. She had been trying all these years to shift with it on, but it was only this year she managed to do it although unfortunately she could barely do it for a minute. Each time it exhausted her. She attempted to move but flinched. She had been whipped again recently - she couldn't say if it was just hours ago or yesterday. She disobeyed. It was fortunate in a way they only whipped her back. It left the rest of her body free. Sure, her wounds healed, but the skin, tissue, and muscle would always remember the pain. She would always remember it.
Upon hearing a noise nearby Mckenna turned her head in the noise's general direction.
"Hello?"
