Damon was sound asleep at the moment in his bed all curled up, it wasn't until the sun set that he even woke up. Yawning he rubbed at his eyes and face, out popped his fangs he was quite hungry. Slipping from his bed he wrapped his fluffy robe around himself and headed to his blood bar. Taking out an extra large bottle of fresh human blood he poured some into a glass, taking it with him he took a quick shower. Putting some swim trunks on he was up for a nice swim and wrapped himself back up in his robe. Taking some towels with him and his slippers on his feet he took his meal with him, going straight to the pool. Nodding to people he passed usually he always kept to himself much of the time there. Watching vampires with their humans he said nothing to anyone he did feel alone but that was beside the point he trusted no one so being with someone was pretty much out of the question for him. Frankly he didn't hold out much hope for anyone coming into his life who he would ever be able to trust or give his heart to, hope had pretty much forsaken him.
Taking his time since he was in no rush to get there he thought back to the weird dreams he had been having for the past few years. Shaking his head he wouldn't think about it anymore there wasn't much of a point to it. Damon had seen a man around, a vampire older then him but not by much around. He was always being stared at my the vampire for some reason. Thinking the guy was around him to keep him out of trouble or company mostly by request of Devon. God he sure as hell hoped Devon never did something like that. But the fact was with his older brother figure one never knew. Running a hand through his hair he thought again the entire time he walked to the pool and sat down on a lounge chair, putting his stuff down. Finishing his blood he put the empty glass down onto the table next to the chair. Sliding his slippers and robe off he dove into the pool, coming up Damon glanced around seeing it was alone which was fine with him. He didn't even think he could ever trust anyone with what happened with the people he had once called his parents that had soured him on having a relationship or being in love even.

Cassie wasn’t always working. Sundays, she got some time to herself. She’d worn a short skirt and a tank top, then ran down to the pool. Cassie couldn’t swim. She had been so stressed other times, she’d just left the coven to do some other things elsewhere. Cassie had often gone to the pool other times, but she had been too self-conscious to get wet.
She was curled up in bed, asleep. Her wet hair had touched the pillow, then she’d been wet all night. She hadn’t wet the bed, she had just covered the dripping water from her blonde hair all over the mattress. She woke up early morning, then ran down towards the pool, noticing someone else was there. Cassie rarely had company in such early times, but she crept towards the pool quietly, not wanting to disturb the person. He had the air around him that told Cassie he was a vampire. But she just couldn’t stay away. She walked towards him.
“It’s early,” she pointed out. “Why are you here? Couldn’t sleep?” She rarely slept nowadays, but last night she had actually closed her eyes then had slipped into a calm sleep.

Damon never really slept all that much even when he was a child his parents hated that. He would always be awake when he should have been asleep. Looking up form where he was hearing some running that soon stopped. Smelling the human near him he turned his head searching for the source of the scent he was smelling. Not having left the water yet his arms were resting on the tiled cool deck. Spotting the human girl coming over he tilted his head. "Yes not long after sunset." Looking up at her with his hair in his face a bit.
"Needed some time in the pool and yes I couldn't sleep any longer." He knew it was about 30 minutes after the sun had set so he wasn't in any danger. Leaning his chin against his arms he closed his eyes. "Who might you be young one?" Damon hadn't really seen her around but he mostly kept to himself if his big brother figure Devon wasn't around. "You can sit if you want to I don't bite." That was the truth he wouldn't bite anyone unless it was to feed and he wasn't going to feed from the girl. He only drank from males well sometimes females but that was beside the point he wasn't some crude nasty vampire.

She smiled a bit weakly when he said it wasn’t long after sunset. Cassie was never up to see the sun set. She still hadn’t gotten used to changing her ways and becoming nocturnal. She had been worried if she had been bitten by night. At least she had done well not saying that it was late. She folded her arms, then shivered when the breeze went over her.
"Needed some time in the pool and yes I couldn't sleep any longer.”
Cassie nodded. “I don’t know why I came down here…I can’t even swim.” She was relieved when he told her he didn’t bite. She sat down then dipped her pedicured toes into the water. A rush of coolness panged up her legs. This was Cassie’s version of swimming, feeling the nice coolness of the water. But it was very cold, which sort of ruined it. “I guess I need to get used to… like, being nocturnal and stuff. I just want to fit in at the coven, not stand out, even if I am a human.”
She quickly added, "I'm Cassandra. But every- I mean, my friends call me Cassie. Or Cass. I don't really care." When she said 'friends', she put on a snooty voice to show her 'friends' weren't really friends, and that she didn't have any.

Damon didn't really know what the sun looked like in the day time other then pictures and movies he watched. He wished he could see the sun but the only way he could was if he went into it. Noticing Cassie shivering he pointed to the robe he had on the chair. "You may wear that if you if you want it, it's not as if I need it. The dead need not to keep warm." That was truth he was dead and didn't feel the cold but wanted to feel the warmth but he couldn't have that either. Listening to her he nodded and it had taken him a while to even want to know how to swim, there hadn't been much point. "Perhaps you could sit there with me for a little bit." Making that suggestion to her and watched her sitting there with her feet in the water.
He liked the water hot or cold, it being warm was the closest thing to him for being human. Damon knew he would never be a human and was stuck like he was, to be a vampire for the rest of his life. "Yes it will take a bit of getting used to..I know I still think I don't belong in the coven much of the time..I don't really have any family but my older brother figure Devon is the closest I have to family." Looking at her he held out his pale hand to her so he could introduce himself to her. "It's nice to meet you Cassie, I'm Damon." He really didn't have any nicknames to speak about but being called a loner. Noting how she spoke about her friends he didn't say anything.

"You may wear that if you if you want it, it's not as if I need it. The dead need not to keep warm."
"Perhaps you could sit there with me for a little bit."
Cassie nodded, and sank her feet into the water. She took the robe from the chair, and used it as a blanket instead of a robe. She still shivered as her back wasn't covered, there was just the low back (and front) of the tank top, the straps, and her skimpy little mini skirt, purple to match her eyeshadow. Cassie never often put on make-up, she wanted to stay in her place, a lowly servant who doesn't have any say of her looks. But now, it was la- early, and hardly anyone was up. Except for her. And him as well.
"Yes it will take a bit of getting used to..I know I still think I don't belong in the coven much of the time..I don't really have any family but my older brother figure Devon is the closest I have to family."
"It's different as a human... Especially if you're tanned, you stand out amongst the pale vampires. Luckily I'm pale as well, so I fit in more. But I know some servants who have a darker skin tone than me, and they stand out lots in here. Well.. I just feel kinda lonely, being surrounded by people in a different race, who could bite me and drink my blood, if I ever make a friend, I'll die and they'll find someone else... That's why I often go out to places outside the coven on my days off. I can meet other humans." She was babbling, but she felt the urge to tell someone, even a vampire, about her feelings.
"It's nice to meet you Cassie, I'm Damon."
"Nice to meet you, Damon," she said in her mechanic 'being-nice' voice. She knew the awkwardness, how you hear someone say a nickname, then you don't have one. Everybody eventually got bored of saying Cassandra and instead said Cassie.

Damon watched her from where he was in the pool and looked around trying not to stare at what she was wearing. He wasn't into girls and didn't think he did need to stare at the young human as it was. Resting his chin back onto his arms and closed his eyes thinking he would end up being alone for the rest of his life. But he was very used to being by himself and didn't really hold hope that someone special would come into his life. He looked at the human girl there with him.
"I'm sorry I sadly wouldn't know about being human but yes I have had human friends over my long life who I've to watch grow old, get sick and die in front of me." Admitting that he looked up at the stars again much of the time he hated being what he was but the fact was it couldn't be changed.

"I'm sorry I sadly wouldn't know about being human but yes I have had human friends over my long life who I've to watch grow old, get sick and die in front of me."
Cassie cringed. "If I were a vampire, I would kill myself when it was time to die.. I'm not knowledgeable on vampires, are there ways of dying?" she asked, and placed her feet in the water, her eyes wet with tears. She knew how hard it was to lose a close friend - she knew how hard it was to lose your own family. Cassie pushed her hair behind her ear lamely, thinking of a distraction from these topics.
"Some vampires are nice. There's this girl, Desdaemona Richardson... She's changed. She used to be horrible to me, treating me like a thing instead of a person, but she has changed her ways... I'm wondering how she'll feel when I die and she lives on." Cassie's head spun from all these images inside them. She hoped she wasn't making faces.
