Cain had his choice stolen from him, to venture out from the place that he was imprisoned was something that he hated to do as it was under orders that he could live only so long as he never left. Yet he no longer was brought food and the last to die had told him that he would soon be on his own. So he made do, years ago it would have been a journey he would have made unarmed but the streets were darker and more dangerous. Because of this he wore weapons left behind by Hunters that never returned. Yet even now the cloak he always wore blended into the shadows of the dead city. For it was a city meant for the dead and it would only be a matter of time before the vampires once more owned every soul within its borders. The Hunters were few and far between and he as one, was not allowed to face the nightmare that encroached upon the borders of his home.
Yet as he often did he walked his path and payed attention to his senses. Listening the hearts that beat in the closed buildings not knowing what crept beneath the shadows of clouds that lingered in the sky so far above. It smelled of rain, a warm rain unlike the October storms that cold leave people cowering within homes to avoid the lancing rain. Yet he was not so sure that rain would fall upon him this night. He moved quickly his feet sure as they danced through the half light of the alley. He could see the lights of the street as he moved towards his destination. The cooler full beneath his arm as he walked. He was a monster needing it, yet he had not been condemned to death, only to a life of watching and doing nothing. He was not allowed to act and yet what could he say on the subject the matter was closed and his fate was sealed.
He was trapped in a life, that he would not wish on any and it was a life he had not been able to choose for his own. No friends of allies would be found for him as he moved forward. A shiver whispered up his spine causing him to stop. His master had always told him to mind the instincts that he had. It felt like he was being followed as if eyes were watching him as he moved through the lengthy shadows of night. He took a breath tasting the air as he did, bringing within himself the scents that rippled around him, one was distinct, human perhaps... after all it had a beating heart, a human heart at that. Different than his own heart steadier and quicker than that of his own. His was slower more lake a gentle plodding thump than a rapid run.
He spoke his voice strong and reverberating with fact. He knew that someone was their, and it was a scent that he recognized but that didn't mean that it was that person, their were ways to hide ones scent after all.

“No point in hiding... I know you are there...”
