Harmony laid curled up in her bed, her face nuzzled up in her pillow. She wasn't sleeping though. There was no way she could sleep after what happened just hours ago. Not when she was almost drained dry by the master vampire. She had been in the kitchen, minding her own buisness, fixing herself some food. The next moment she knew, she cut herself. And as her luck would have it Tristan was within smelling distance. Tristan Holt had a habit of going into blood lusts. Especially when the slave who was bleeding wasn't his.
A part of her was thankful Devon didn't come to her rescue. She would never hear the end of it if he had to save her from Tristan. She was just even more thankful that she had been able to talk sense into him. It was very hard to stop a vampire when they were in a blood lust.
So what did she do when Tristan let her go? She ran to her room and locked herself in, although she wasn't so sure how well a simple lock worked against a vampire. If Tristan wanted he could probably just rip the door off the hinges. Once she was back in the safety of her bedroom, in tears, heart pounding in her throat, she started bandaging up her finger. She was going to have to think up something to tell Devon. She didn't want him to know what really happened. He would lecture her about it, and she just didn't want to listen to it.
One thing was for certain. Harmony would stay in her room from now on when Devon wasn't home. The entire incident scared her and she didn't want it to happen again. Next time she might not be able to stop it, and Devon wasn't going to be able to save her every time. No, from now on she would stay in her room when he was out. Even if she didn't want to. She didn't want something like that happening again.
So once the tears had stopped, her heart calmed, and her hand was bandaged up she climbed into the bed and curled up because Harmony had nothing to do in her room, and she was too scared out of her wits to leave the room. She dozed for a bit since she was still adjusting the the sleeping habit, but she spent most of the night staring at the ceiling or out the window, at this point in time she was dozing again, face nuzzled into her pillow, hair mussed, sheets tangled around her bare legs. Somewhere during one of her naps she slipped out of her bra and pants, leaving her in a tee shirt and her panties as she dozed.
She roused when she felt and heard her belly growl in hunger. She hadn't eaten all night. She had been too scared to think about finishing her food or grabbing something she could snack on. She was starving and still no sign of Devon. It would be dawn soon. Maybe he was still mad with her and was punishing her by leaving her alone. He would probably spend the night with Eden tonight, which saddened her a little.

The woman had made herself scares all night and Devon didn’t know whether that was a good thing or a bad thing. He thought that everything was cleared up. Devon was under the impression that he had made his point perfectly clear and that Harmony wouldn’t be going against him on it anymore. And if she did, well he wouldn’t always be there. It was impossible for him to always be there. He told himself that over and over again because even though he knew it probably wasn’t his fault, he still felt guilty for what happened to her while he had been away with Eden. But Harmony was going to be Harmony and she would do whatever it was that she wanted, provided it wouldn’t get her into any major trouble. And even then, that wasn’t a complete stopper for her. So if she wasn’t coming around she was either still mad at him for the blood bar thing, which was just too bad because Devon wasn’t going to not go to a blood bar just because Harmony didn’t want him to, or she was trying to let him have his time alone. Not something he wanted right now. He’d been planning portions of their trip. It was a hassle to get night flights and then get a hotel close enough that he could be in it before dawn. But she wanted a vacation and he could use some time with her away from Eden and Tristan and anyone else who didn’t like seeing them together.
For about the third time in the last few hours the laptop froze. Devon slammed it shut and then cringed as pieces of it launched themselves over furniture and one particularly sharp piece hit him in the face. For a brief moment he had a bit of a slash on his cheek that very quickly disappeared. That wasn’t why he cringed. He cringed because those things were expensive to replace and he hadn’t planned on buying a new one any time soon. Well, he was going to have to change that plan, wasn’t he? That computer was sort of essential to the whole vacation planning process. Devon got up and left the piece of trash sitting on the table for either some slave or servant to throw away or for some computer genius to tear it apart for whatever was left of it that was good. Devon didn’t care which happened really.
He really probably should be spending the day with Eden. It sort of looked bad to be spending so many days sharing the bed of a blood slave, but it wasn’t a secret that Devon was closer to his slave than he was to his wife. He wouldn’t say he loved either of them, though he had thrown the word around to other women he had taken to bed as a means of getting them to do what he wanted them to do. Not that he really needed help with getting women to bed, but to get them to shut up, sometimes you had to say some things that weren’t entirely true. Because the truth was that Devon didn’t understand what love was. He didn’t know what the word meant. Some strong emotion, sure, and if Devon was being honest with himself what he felt for Harmony was stronger than anything he had felt before. It was strong enough to bring some sort of life back into him after the death of his parents when Eden couldn’t even do that. He had married Eden because it had been expected of him. Marry a vampire and reproduce. Give the Council and heir. That last part he had not completed yet and he knew Tristan wouldn’t allow a human/vampire heir even if Harmony produced one. He was starting to worry that Eden was infertile though. Perhaps that would be reasonable grounds for divorce.
Devon made his way to the room he shared with Harmony and turned the knob, not expecting it to be locked. He turned it again. Stuck. So someone was inside. Immediately he thought that Harmony might be sleeping with someone behind his back to get back at his adventure to the blood bar, but he could hear only one person on the other side. “Harmony?” He tried not to make his voice sound harsh but really, why would she lock the door? “Harmony, open this door. I’d rather not break it down but I will if I’m required to do so.”

Harmony nearly jumped out of her skin when she heard his voice. She frowned and looked around groggily when she heard him wrestling with the door. It took her a minute to realize while and she scrambled out of bed, not bothering to pull any more of her clothes on. She fumbled with the lock a minute before opening the door. She didn't want him thinking she was doing anything wrong. She had just wanted to lock the door for some protection. "I'm sorry. I was napping." She said gently as she closed the door behind him, running her fingers through her sleep mussed hair to try and straighten it out a little.
She studied him for a moment thoughtfully, wondering where he had been all night. This was the first time she had seen him since sunset when he left to do... well.. whatever he was going to do. He didn't tell her what exactly that was going to be. Harmony was starting to get worried. What if Devon was getting tired of her? Harmony had started thinking about the facts of the situation lately, and one thing that often crossed her mind was that she was only here as long as Devon wanted her here. What would happen if he grew tired of Harmony and her disobedience? Devon failed to realize that those thoughts are what went through her head when he went to the blood bar. She felt like she wasn't enough for him anymore and he was seeking some sort of replacement for what Harmony didn't give him.
She sat down on the bed, crossing her legs Indian style. "Where have you been all night, Devon?" She asked gently, looking over him inquiringly. She didn't have any hints of disappointment on her in any ways. She was just curious. She had hoped to spend the day with him, but after they murmured their good nights to each other after sunset, that had been the last she saw of him. She was curious to know where he went. Did he go to town? Or did he stay at the mansion? Normally, she would have gone looking for him if she wasn't sure, and she had intended to after she ate, but she hadn't even gotten a chance to eat thanks to Tristan and his blood lust.
She slowly laid down, hoping to cover the noise of her grumbling stomach from him. Her plan was to sneak out of the bedroom once the sun rose to fix herself some food and get some to stash in her bedroom for when Devon decides to go out. Most of all the vampires were asleep then, even if the house was pretty much dark tight. She supposed part of it was habit after centuries of having to hide from the light. She wasn't sure that would work with Devon. He would certainly grow curious if he felt her climb out of bed. She was going to have to figure something out though... She was starving.

Devon hadn't been locked out of a room in quite some time. He had chalked that up to having better control over Harmony, or that she had warmed up to him and just didn't feel the need to lock him out. He wouldn't have allowed her a room if he had thought she'd lock him out frequently. Human movements were slow compared to movements of a vampire and while his blood slave seemed to fumble with the lock, Devon's mind wandered what had been so important that she needed to lock anyone out. He was fairly certain that she was the only one in the room, he couldn't hear anything else and he couldn't smell anyone else having stepped into the room. There was the faint smell of Tristan, that Devon didn't like at all, but that could be from any time, maybe even her entering a room just recently after he had left. There wasn't anything he could do about a Tristan smell anyway, though he'd have a hard time controlling himself if Tristan was in there with Devon's blood slave.
It felt like forever before Harmony got the door open. Devon walked in and immediately scanned the room. Everything seemed to be in its place, no one hiding and nothing really out of the ordinary... aside from the door having been locked. Devon arched an eyebrow at Harmony's current choice in clothing as she shut the door behind him. Part of him wondered if maybe his senses had failed him and someone else had been in the room, but it wasn't unusual for Harmony to be clothed this way if she'd just been sleeping, so he did his best to let that thought go and resisted the urge to wrap his arms around her and just take her. But she looked a little more weak than usual. Maybe she was sick. Devon could be heartless, but there was no denying that Harmony meant more to him than anyone else. He took care of her the only way he knew how. The only way that was really acceptable for a vampire to take care of his slave... not that constantly spending the days in bed with the slave was normal, especially when the vampire had a wife.
“I... broke the laptop.” It didn't quite explain where he was, except on the computer, but it was all he could think of to explain. It wasn't a secret to Harmony that he'd planned on taking her on vacation. She had even picked the place. But admitting something like breaking the laptop felt like a good explanation. It wasn't often that he could admit that he'd done something, broken something that was valuable, but he could do this with Harmony... sometimes. And it seemed to Devon that this breaking of the computer should explain everything, though it explained very little.
He frowned as his blood slave lied down, not missing the grumbling in her stomach. He sat down gracefully on the bed and watched her. His hand ran under her shirt and his fingers traced over her stomach. “Are you ill?” He could get her some medicine if she needed it. He didn't have any other way to explain what was going on with her at the moment. ooc: if you're still here... sorry it's kind of short.

She did not miss the questioning looks. She knew that she did not usually lock the door, nor did she wear a t-shirt and panties to bed. She usually wore much more frilly things for him to enjoy, but she hadn't really intended to wear this to bed. She just slipped off her bra and out of her jeans in her sleep. It happened on occasion.
She frowned softly when he told her he broke the computer. She supposed it meant that he was on the computer. She took a few minutes to consider asking him what he was doing on the computer but decided not to bother. "I suppose you will have to buy another one then." She said gently as she settled into her spot on the bed. She watched as he approached and sat on the bed. She rolled onto her back and tucked her bandaged hand under her pillow and head.
She closed her eyes when his hand slipped under her shirt and brushed over her belly. She shifted and shook her head softly. "No. I'm just fine." Her blue eyes fluttered back open as she looked up to him, lightly laying a hand over the one that laid under her shirt. She made sure it wasn't the hand that was bandaged up from being cut. She didn't want him asking too many questions at once. No doubt a million of them were running through his head already. "Are you ill" wasn't one she'd been expecting, but she She frowned a little as her stomach growled once more. She blushed a little an averted her gaze. She was going to have to tell him she was hungry. She was starving actually, but she wasn't going to say that. He would already question why she didn't get her something to eat as it was. She didn't need him questioning why she was so hungry. "I'm just a little hungry." She stated calmly, studying him thoughtfully as she rubbed her hand over his cotton clad hand.

Yes, the destruction of one thing usually meant buying another one, at least where Devon was concerned. He was a Council Member. He wasn't lacking in money. At the same time, it was a bit frustrating to have broken a computer, especially because he was too impatient to just wait for the stupid thing to unfreeze. In any case, he nodded his agreement. He would have to get another computer. It didn't really occur to him that his explanation was insufficient. And anyway, Harmony wasn't complaining about it. Of course, now he wondered if she wasn't complaining because they'd had the argument about the blood bar or because she really did think that his explanation of the computer breaking was enough.
At least she wasn't ill. Devon didn't know what he would do if his human got sick. He wasn't a very nurturing sort of vampire. He was different with Harmony and maybe the need to help her would just kick in and he'd know what to do, but he had never gone out of his way to help a human before Harmony. And still, a lot of the time he did the master thing and had to punish her instead of help her. Not as much now as he had had to before, but from time to time it was still needed. Another reason he dreaded producing an heir, especially with Eden. He didn't love her, he didn't love, but she could be as cruel as he was sometimes and he didn't think either of them would be any decent at raising a child. But the Council needed their heir...
“I don't recall seeing you around the castle either, though.” It wasn't an accusation. For at least a little while his blood slave had been in their room. The last argument they had had kind of left him stepping lightly. He didn't want to cause another argument, especially so quickly, even if one was inevitable. He just wanted to postpone the next one, when things between them were so delicate as it was. But then she went and said she was hungry, which he found curious. Had she slept all day then?
Devon frowned slightly at her. “Hungry? Haven't you eaten today?” He made an effort to keep his voice more concerned than upset. Really, he wasn't upset he was just sort of at a loss for why she'd go all day without eating, especially when she was his main source of food. She didn't like when he fed from other girls, so why wasn't she keeping herself fed for him? But he was concerned as well, for her sake. He doubted she'd stop eating just to annoy him and throw off his diet, so there had to be something going on.

Of course she didn't think that his explanation was enough, but he was already mad with her about the fight about the blood bar. She didn't want to push her luck. She felt she did enough of that today. If she hadn't thought to talk Tristan down today she wouldn't even be here to talk to Devon. If there was one important thing to remember about being a hunter, it was to keep calm under serious pressure. At first she had been afraid, but then she somehow found the calm to talk Tristan down. If she hadn't reacted when she did he would have wound up sinking his teeth into her and draining her dry. She gave an involuntary shudder at the thought, hoping Devon didn't notice.
Harmony supposed it was a good thing she wasn't ill. Devon wasn't exactly the nurturing type. She imagined it would be a serious learning curve for him. She didn't get sick very much around here, but she suspected being linked to a being that never got sick helped. She knew she still could, but the chances of it actually happening lately were pretty slim.
She shrugged her shoulder lightly as she sat up, her body facing him. "I thought maybe I should start listening to you and stay in here when I can't find you." She looked down as she brought her knees up to her chest and wrapped her arms around her knees. She looked up to him, propping her chin on her knees. "I couldn't find you. I guess I just kept missing you, so I came back up here. " She said gently, studying the man she had come to love. Such a strange twist of fate it was for her to fall for the beings she hated most. Vampires had destroyed her life, and a part of her had vowed to destroy them all. Now she loved one with all her heart and she questioned if he loved her. It hurt to think that he didn't. Sometimes she worried he would grow bored with her and eventually find someone to replace her.
Harmony shifted a little at his question and studied hi for a moment before shaking her head softly. " I haven't...I'm sorry I just... " She stopped for a moment, looking over his face for a thoughtfully before speaking again. "Will you promise me you won't get mad if I explain what happened?" She asked softly. She really didn't want to tell him if he was going to get mad. She wouldn't have much choice now she realized, but she wanted to know that he wouldn't get mad with her. She didn't want to fight and she didn't want him fussing at her for going out of her room without him around, because she knew he would once she told him what happened. She knew Devon well enough to know how he would react to the news, and she didn't really want to tell him, but she knew she would have to.

An arched eyebrow was the answer to Harmony's answer to him. That even sounded sort of convoluted inside of his head. Maybe he was tired. Or just frustrated. What sort of vampire couldn't keep a hold on his human lover slash blood slave and his wife? Both had been ripping him right down the middle lately. He expected nothing less, though. His wife had every right to want his attention, and Harmony... well, he cared deeply for the human girl. But he couldn't help but be confused at her answer. She would start listening to him and stay put when he was not around? That didn't sound like his little human at all. His first thought was that this was some type of trick or that she was lying, but he couldn't think of a reason she would need or want to do either. To the best of his ability, he gave her what she needed. He attempted to get what he thought she might like. He knew he didn't always succeed in that, but at least he tried. That was more than anyone could say he did for any other human. Because humans, in general, were below Devon. He was much more important than they were. Harmony was different, though. Maybe it was her spunky, rebellious tendencies, but he cared about her more. He wanted to protect her. She was, after all, his.
Missing him, he could understand. He was attractive. Hey, he was a vampire, he could be a little vain. And he was. He knew he looked good. He knew Harmony liked the way he looked; he knew most people liked the way he looked. Devon would call it confidence, but the truth of the matter was, he was just very fond of his physical appearance. So when she said she had missed him, Devon accepted that, though he thought there was probably more to it than just wanting to be near him.
Well, there went his plans for dinner. There was no way he could feed from Harmony if she hadn't eaten today. And she didn't look entirely healthy either, despite her insistence that she wasn't sick. Maybe she'd fallen or something. He could smell blood, a cut somewhere, but she couldn't have lost that much. There was nothing that could have happened to make her lose that much blood. Maybe she just didn't look well because she hadn't eaten. But it wasn't really like Harmony to not eat. His eyebrows pulled together as he tried to figure out the cause for what was different about her. Devon might be a vampire and have heightened senses, but Harmony was something different; he couldn't always figure her out. Maybe that was part of why he liked her so much.
“We should get you something to eat then. You should not be skipping meals.” He was going to add that it wasn't like her to not eat, especially when she knew he'd want to feed from her, but she said something that immediately made him suspicious. Promise you won't get mad... Devon didn't need to breathe but he found the deep breath he took now a necessity. One that would calm him down, or at least attempt to. Getting Devon angry wasn't exactly the best thing in the world. “You know I can't promise that.” Well, at least he was truthful. “But you should tell me anyway.”

A part of her felt no surprise at all when he said what he said. Of course he wouldn't be able to promise her he wouldn't get mad. What was she thinking? This was Devon she was talking about.
Harmony looked away from him at his words, closing her eyes as she tried to find the strength to tell the truth. She could try and lie to him. Sometimes she managed to get one by him, but he usually had a pretty good bullshit meter. "Please, Devon... I don't want to fight about it... I already feel terrible enough about it. " She looked up to him pleadingly. She knew that was pretty much asking the impossible. She just didn't want to fight. Not tonight. She could still feel the fear that raced through her when Tristan had her cornered against the counter. The last time she felt that scared had been a long time ago, when she found her parents dead and her sister missing.
She wouldn't lie and say she didn't get scared. Tristan and Eden terrified her. No one would think that the way she spoke about Eden sometimes, but she learned long ago to hide feelings, and it was vitally important that you not show fear here. Not around a den of vampires, but she hadn't been that scared in a long time. She didn't even understand how she stopped it. She just talked... put the idea that if he killed her, Devon and the other council members would turn on him.
She took a deep calming breath before her eyes fluttered open and she lifted her bandaged hand to his chest, stroking it over his chest and abs softly. " I... was in the kitchen fixing myself some food and. " She closed her eyes, taking a deep breath. "I cut myself while I was cutting up some stuff to cook and... He... " She shuddered softly, clutching at his shirt tightly. "He came in and he was in a blood lust and... I swear he didn't do anything. " She murmured the words softly, wrapping her arms around her as she shuddered at the memory, trying to fight back the fresh tears as she relived that fear.
She hated crying in front of people. It made her feel vulnerable, and she already felt vulnerable without any way to protect herself. She didn't need to add to that feeling of vulnerability. She took a deep calming breath, avoiding his gaze, afraid of the reaction he was going to have to her news while her fingers wiped at her eyes futilly

That made two of them. Devon did not want to fight either. They just... did sometimes. They were both stubborn (though Devon wouldn't admit that he was, just because he was a vampire and she was not, so he was supposed to be the one that got what he wanted) and that tended to lead to arguments. Harmony didn't like him going to blood bars, Devon didn't like when Harmony went around by herself where vampires, especially Tristan, would be. But Devon couldn't protect her all the time and she had to eat at some point... except for today, when she apparently didn't need to eat. Humans were complicated and confusing, which was part of the reason he preferred to keep them under his control. Well, that and Devon firmly believed that (in general) vampires were better than humans. It was different with Harmony. Devon didn't see her as much human anymore. He did see her as sort of property. She was his. Everything that she had was because of him. But there was something more about her that he just didn't count her among the other humans.
It wasn't difficult for Devon to guess who he was. There was a bit of an ongoing internal battle between Devon and Tristan as of late, having started when Devon had gone away with his wife. Devon should have never left. Perhaps then Tristan wouldn't feel the need to egg him on so. There was little that Devon could do against their leader. It was a miracle that Harmony was here in their room right now. He had either underestimated her, or they were very lucky. Either way, he couldn't get mad at her for being in the kitchen. She was human, she needed human food. Devon understood that. It was Tristan he was angry with. Then again, Harmony had said he did nothing.
“I don't believe I understand. He was in a blood lust... and he did nothing?” Tristan was a powerful vampire, but a blood lust wasn't something a vampire just walked out of. Devon might come to his senses if he knew he was about to kill or damage Harmony, but if it were just someone random... then again, Devon knew better than to touch another vampire's slave. Servants were fair game, but slaves were a completely other issue.
Anyone crying made Devon uncomfortable. He cared deeply for Harmony, but tears were just not something he worked well with. He sighed and resigned himself to wrapping his arms around her, hoping it felt more protective than awkward.

Her head nodded softly as she looked up to him at his question. She knew she would have to explain better. It was very difficult for a vampire to snap out of a blood lust without feeding. Harmony still couldn't believe that Tristan actually snapped out of his when he did. Harmony thought she'd be dead when it happened.
"I didn't have any way to defend myself against him, and he had me cornered against the counter, so I just started talking about how he could cause a revolt against him among the council if he killed me. I'm not even sure how sound the logic was, but it got his attention. " She sniffled a little, rubbing at her eyes, trying to dash away the tears. It was true. She wasn't so sure how sound her logic had been, but she was ever so grateful that it was enough to wake him from a blood lust.
She looked to him as he laid down and wrapped her up in his arms. She pressed herself to him as much as was physically possible, calming a little as his comforting embrace wrapped around her. She kissed cheek softly. "After he left me there in the kitchen I ran up here and locked myself in." She finished gently, nuzzling close to him, stroking her hand up and down his chest slowly.
" If you need to feed we can go downstairs and I can fix myself something to eat so that you can feed." She said gently. She knew how important eating regularly was. If she didn't eat then he couldn't feed from her, and she didn't want to give him an excuse to go to the blood bar. A sheepish smile spread across her lips as her stomach grumbled again, stroking her hand up and down one of his arms tenderly.

Devon wasn't sure he was understanding what was going on. For the first time (which was surprising because he had owned Harmony for a long time), he was thankful that she had been a hunter before he bought her. This aspect of her life had always intrigued the vampire as a challenge and because of the spirit in her from that sort of life, he was attracted to her. But never had he thought he would be thoroughly pleased that she had killed vampires in her life before him. What was more impressive was that apparently, Harmony hadn't even lifted a finger to get Tristan Holt to stop his attack. The Vampire Master had much more control over his feeding habits than Devon did, but it was still near impossible to bring a vampire out of a blood lust. Devon made it a point to stay away from another vampire's slave just for that reason – he didn't think he'd be able to stop if his intention was to feed.
“I don't know whether you're really lucky, or just that talented.” He tried to give a small smile, but the result wasn't very effective. Normally, Devon was a master at lying. Unfortunately, Harmony could usually see through him. So either way, the gesture was probably lost. He couldn't help but feel glad that Harmony was safe, and angry at Tristan for even thinking of feeding off his blood slave, at the same time. One of the later thoughts he had was that if Tristan had left Harmony there, logically, she should have just eaten. Chances were that Tristan wouldn't be coming back if he had left without harming Harmony.
They were in a difficult situation now, though. The way Devon saw it, Tristan Holt would act in one of two ways: the vampire master would either go easier on them because of his slip up (in which case Devon would be both relieved because he needed a break and angry because he didn't want to admit that he needed one); or Tristan would be more difficult to get along with. The latter was what Devon's mind thought was more likely to happen. Tristan probably wouldn't want anyone to know that he almost fed from someone else's slave, and his moment of weakness would probably earn Devon a bit more of a closer watch. And less of a chance to get a divorce from Eden, if there had ever been a chance for that.
He sighed at her words. “If you are hungry, I can send another servant down for something. Otherwise do not worry about it.” It was sort of painful for Devon say that she didn't have to feed him tonight. Truthfully, he was very thirsty. But he wouldn't make her uncomfortable right now. Obviously he was a slightly changed Devon than when he had first bought the slave.

Though being a hunter at one point in time had given Harmony the ability to keep calm under serious amounts of pressure or stress, the trouble was keeping calm after the fact. She had managed to reign back the fear and think clearly when Tristan had her cornered in the kitchen. She talked him off. She still couldn't believe that it worked. She thought she was a dead woman for sure. And that was why she couldn't keep calm once Tristan left her in the kitchen. Fight or Flight usually kicked in in situations like Tristan's blood lust. Fight kicked in during the situation and flight kicked in afterwards. Harmony wasn't concerned about eating. She just wanted to get somewhere safe.
Harmony's blue eyes lifted to meet his gaze. She didn't smile or laugh or anything. She certainly wasn't talented. She still had some of the hunter's abilities, but most of them had been lost from the years as a blood slave. She sighed and shook her head as she wiped at her eyes. "Or really stupid." She said softly as she looked away from him. It took a lot for Harmony to admit that. There was a reason Devon didn't like her being out and about the mansion by herself, and Harmony being Harmony didn't listen once again and got into trouble. She didn't have Devon to help her out of her trouble that time. She had been stupid to not listen to him. She hadn't felt that terrified in years and she didn't want to feel that way again.
She studied him for a moment as the tears started to calm. She wiped at her eyes softly at his words. It was not like Devon to skip a feeding. She studied the man thoughtfully, wondering what he was thinking. She suddenly felt a little guilty for not eating any today now. She shifted and nuzzled her face into his chest. "I'm starving." She murmured to him softly. "If you don't mind waiting a little after I eat you could have a late feeding." It was her way of saying she was sorry. She hoped he realized that because it wasn't easy for Harmony to apologize for something like this. She hadn't exactly been in a calm, clear state of mind. It was hard to keep calm when you had a vampire looming over you and you had no physical weapon that would be of any use. She could of used the knife she had in her hand, but that would have only made it more fun for him when he caught her.
A small shudder crawled over her body as the memory of that look in his eyes flashed through her mind. The way he'd looked at her made her skin crawl. She was just thankful it was over.
