Anna had been sitting in her room all evening feeling sorry for herself. She thought she was done being afraid but she was apparently wrong. It was funny how a small statement can bring a poorly built tower down. All Julian had to do was call her a toy and mean it. All he had to do was say one phrase to crash in her delicately blinded world view. After a year and a half of living with these people the young girl had found that the easiest way to get by was to put on blinders and only see and think about the good things that happened around her. About how Devon loved Harmony and would show it in little yet sweet ways. Or how Harmony would have sat there and talked her through any of her silly little girl problems better than her mother probably ever would. Or how Tristan would smile at her when she would get something right or learn a new thing. Contrary to what everyone though the old vampire really did care for her. Or so she thought… or maybe hoped. Anna took a deep breath looking over at the alarm clock on her side table. Almost 10; half of the day was gone and she had spent it all locked up in her room. She looked around the empty space trying to find something to do when it dawned on her she should probably be working on her lessons. Tristan had assigned her a rather hard French lesson and she only has a few more nights to complete it. The man seemed to think she was far more capable of understanding the material he was teaching her then she was probably actually capable of, but for some reason he believed in her and so far she had tried rather hard not to let him down.
She jumped off of her bed and walked over to the desk in hopes of finding what she was looking for. Her assignment was there but for some reason the dictionary was not. If she was ever going to get any of this work done she was going to need that French to English dictionary. She bit her lip as she looked around once more trying to see some site of the blue white and red book. Sadly it was nowhere in sight. Where had she last had it? She thought back to the past few days remembering working on the assignment no more than 2 nights ago but where had she been at the time. “The living room.” Anna had been working on the floor next to the coffee table when Tristan had come in looking for her and she had to pack up in a hurry. He had wanted to take her out for a bit to show her something. It had been a fun something but she must have left the dictionary behind.
She grabbed her room key so she could lock the door behind her and head down the hall towards the living room. This place was such a maze it took her 10 minutes to walk the short distance to the foyer, off of which was located the living room. She could hear the sounds of the television which informed her there was someone in the room. Sadly however she hadn’t expected it to be the person it was.
Anna entered to see Julian lounging on the couch watching TV alone. Of all the people why did it have to be him? She paused, fidgeting with her hands and biting her lip nervously as she looked at the back of his head. He was most certainly the last person she wanted to see at the moment. She took a deep breath, closed her eyes for only a moment before looking down at her feet as she marched towards the coffee table. She grabbed what she was looking for and started making her way out of the room as quickly as she had come; all the while making sure not the even look at the half vampire sitting in the room with her.

The incident in the kitchen could have gone quite worse. He knew that and Julian was glad that it didn’t. Coming back home already seemed like a bad thing but he didn’t really have anywhere else to go. His welcome on Ilsa had been overstayed and it was getting obvious. The way people were looking at him and being a vampire and lycan his hearing was quite good, being able to hear the whispers that no one else would. It had simply been time and with Ana coming to warn him about Kacey and her meddling, Julian decided it was up and time to leave. The mansion seemed to be the last place that the annoying vampire would look for him and coming here seemed like a good idea at the time. Now he wasn’t thinking that. With his father and half brother already wanting a piece of Selena, Julian knew it was going to be hard keeping those two off of the poor woman. He needed to think of something that would get them off her and to simply lose interest. His mind was coming up with nothing right now.
The only thing that had come to mind that moment in the kitchen was claiming Selena as his human even if she wasn’t his property. She was his mate but that had been the only way he knew it would sink in to the two prowling vampires he was up against. Logan he could handle no problem. They had been fighting since he could remember, but throw in his father and that it wasn’t the best odds for Julian. One thing that he would never let Selena or anyone know, no matter what he would always make it seem as if he was far too cocky thinking he could take them both on. It was a good tactic that seemed to work so far, but one of these days his luck might run out. Nevertheless, the situation in the kitchen had ended how he expected it to. Selena eventually walked out pissed off at him. She might not have said she was pissed off, but he could tell. Once everything was settled, he went to find her. His first thought had been their room however, Selena would think that as well and instead he took another route going towards the living room. There he found the Spanish woman fuming as usual.
Now it was a couple hours later, and he was spread out on the couch in the living room, with Selena sleeping with her head on his lap. He had put a blanket over her and was now simply watching the TV. He hadn’t actually sat around and done nothing in a long time. Vegging on the couch was something he was enjoying right now. Holding the remote in his hands, he flipped the channel trying to find something else to watch. His attention went from the screen when a familiar scent hit his nose. Just as it did, Anna walked into the room. Given the chaos in the kitchen he hadn’t even been aware when she had left. Watching her for a moment, he noticed she wasn’t even acknowledging that he was there. This was strange seeing as she was always eager to talk to him. “What not even a hello anymore?” he asked just as she was heading back out. He didn’t even look from the TV when he spoke.

Anna stopped in her tracks as the words left Julian’s mouth. She had really honesty hoped that he would take the hint from her actions and just ignore her. She was only human after all and was ignored by so many of the mansions residents it was only natural that Julian do the same. Her body tensed and her hands tightened their grip on the book. Her shoulders seem to rise up on their own as her head went down trying to hid in her chest, not that she really had one to hide in yet. Why couldn’t he just let her go back to her room in silence where she could hide for the rest of the day and then just make sure she didn’t run into him for a while? That was what she really wanted wasn’t it? To not run into him.
Her eyes snapped shut as tight as they would go as she tried to think of something to say. She knew she should probably try to act a little less familiar after the events of earlier today. He had obviously upset Julian’s new girlfriend or whatever she was and maybe that was why Julian was mad at her. Mad enough to call her a toy when he was yelling at his father. She would have to make sure to ask Tristan about that later if she could.
Anna turned slowly, trying to force her body to relax and only succeeding very slightly. She didn’t look up but opened her eyes to make sure that she was at least facing his direction. “Hello and I’m sorry for my rudeness Master Julian.” The last part was said with a slight air of distain that she really did try to cover up so he wouldn’t hear it. She hated having to call any of the vampires master or sir or ma’am. There was something about it that always left a bitter taste in her mouth. She knew she was no lower than they were but they still insisted on making her treat them like they were royal.

It seemed that his channel surfing was really getting him nowhere. There seemed to be nothing on TV right now that was keeping his interest. The cooking shows were all boring nothing too interesting about them. Most of the shows he watched were either not on right now or not airing at all this week. He would have to wait till later to veg out on the couch watching them. That is if Selena was still sleeping or wanting to spend time away from him. If not he’d probably end up taking her out to see another part of New York and simply watch his shows online. Being alive for so long, meant that he had seen a greater part of the world already and didn’t regret spending some time simply doing nothing. Right now seemed like one of those times, when he was enjoy some quiet while his mate slept on the couch beside him. With all the drama going on in the house, it was a wonder he had been able to even get his one moment to himself. However, it seemed it was going to be a short one with how Anna seemed to be acting. He wasn’t too clued in on what the heck he had done to cause her to display this kind of attitude towards him. Since she had been at the mansion, his attitude towards had been one of sympathy. Knowing what his father could be like, Julian tired to treat Anna with a little bit of kindness. More than most people in the coven got from him. He simply felt bad that the kid had to belong to Tristan. The man wasn’t exactly the best to be around no matter how nice he pretended to be.
Out of the corner of his eyes, he watched Anna sensing a dread coming over her the moment he spoke. This caused him to look at the girl just as her comment came out. His eyebrows quirked up in surprise as he looked her way, wondering what had sparked this kind of reaction. ” Master Julian? Since when have you called me anything but Julian?” he asked his arm still around his mate’s body as she slept beside him. “What’s gotten into you Anna? I don’t need another enemy in this gawd awful place.” he added.

Anna was positive that Julian could see and hear every facet of her uncomfortable and rather angry demeanor and tone since she had entered the room. You didn’t have to be a vampire with heightened perception and senses to know the girl was agitated. So, his reaction came as no surprise to her. Though if she had been looking at his face and seen his complete reaction she may have reacted differently herself. “I do not presume to by your enemy sir.” It was true that she had never once in her time of knowing Julian called him anything but Julian. There had always been something about the man that had told her that this was okay to do. He was very different then his brother Logan, who she would never call anything but Master Logan or Sir. He had a tendency to look down on her that Julian had never had, well that was until today. “I am simply trying to stay in my place and not presume to overstep my bounds.” The words that came out of the girls mouth were far beyond what one would consider the vocabulary of the average 12 year old girl but thanks to the education she had gotten and the reading she had done since she had been here the girl could often achieve a level of intelligence and maturity far beyond that of most children her age. Something that was surely because of Tristan’s wanted to have her as a companion beyond that of a normal servant. But sadly none of that mattered in the moment she now found herself in.
Anna bit her lip as she waited for a response. She knew that Julian was not going to like her candid statement but it was something that she knew needed to be said. He had always taken pity on her when she did not ask for it. Anna had no desire to be pitied or thought of as helpless. If Julian really thought the way he had indicated in the kitchen then he would treat her as such, instead of acting like she was special and being nice to her. It was far less painful if he just treated her like a toy owned by his father, then treating her as a person and then having her find out she was never one to him.

Frowning somewhat, the young hybrid looked over towards the younger girl who was still in the living room with him. He hadn’t been thinking much during the whole incident in the kitchen. His mind was on something else entirely and because of that, he had said something that had offended Selena. Granted he hadn’t said it about her because he meant it. It had been a tactic that he used in order to establish that she wasn’t to be used as a snack. Despite even that however, he knew that she wouldn’t be completely off limits. It really was something that would last for too long, not if anyone found out about her blood being quite appealing. That and he knew is family enough to know they would do just about anything to piss him off and that would only put Selena into more harm. The fight with Logan had only been a fraction of what would probably end up happening the longer he stayed.
His annoyance of the place really was already showing. Not having been paying much attention to what had been going on with Anna, he wasn’t aware it had been something he said that changed her attitude dramatically. His mood was still somewhat sour over the whole ordeal back in the kitchen and Anna’s attitude now really wasn’t helping him keep calm. With the full moon a few days away, it was getting hard to control his moods and his anger. Having two beasts to deal with, wasn’t a picture of calm. It was why when Anna continued to talk the way she was, his anger slowly built up. He did not need to deal with this as well. It really was just getting to be too much for one day. “Cut the sir bs Anna.” he warned not finding any of it amusing at all.
The next bit she spoke only got him more annoyed. Shifting Selena off his lap slowly, he moved with quick speed standing in front of Anna in the blink of an eye towering over her. “Don’t play this game with me Anna, you wouldn’t be able to handle it. If you really want me to be your enemy say so because I can easily go to treating you like your worth nothing and the scum off my shoe has far greater value than you.” he told her growling low his fangs having appeared due to the anger that was building up again. “I don’t know what’s got you acting like this but it either stops or I really show you what it means to be a servant in this household.” he added before taking a step away from her, his posture relaxing for a moment as he crossed his arms over his chest watching her waiting for an explanation. He had already treated her like she was someone having felt sorry for the girl, however if she didn’t want that kind of kindness anymore he could easily take it away.

Anna waited a moment before deciding she should maybe turn and leave. She really had no desire to start anything and make the situation worse than it had to be. Julian may not have understood but she didn’t care. She would rather have him annoyed with her then pretend to be nice to her while still thinking so little of her. She was a servant, a toy of his father, and nothing more. It was time she started acting like one with him just as she did with everyone else. Anna knew she was lowest on the totem pole and she was stuck there whether she liked it or not. There was no escaping this life for her and in truth she didn’t really want to anymore. She wanted to see her family and friends more than anything but she wasn’t sure if she was willing to do that at the expense of the people in this coven. There were so many of them that didn’t deserve the fate that her brother and the other hunters would give them. Julian was one of those people, even despite the fact he had called her a toy. He had still been so kind to her and at least given her a moment’s joy in the days before she saw the truth of his feelings. She was convinced he thought of her as nothing more than a thing and no matter how crazy it seemed when looked at in comparison to all the times he had been nice to her for some reason that sentence had caught her in its web and wouldn’t let her free.
Before she turned she looked up at him just in time to see the streak of color as he came to hover only steps away with words seeping from his mouth like venom. Anna was frozen in fear, knowing exactly what he could do to her and how fast he could do it. Her eyes clamped shut and her body tensed, her fingernails digging into the book as it twisted under her vice like grip. She had never really truly been afraid of Julian until this moment, so much so that she found herself shaking and on the verge of tears. Though the tears were from his words just as much as her fear. Everything he said only confirmed everything she had been feeling and this time she was washed with a flood of sadness in the realization that it had really all been a lie. The part of her that was still clutching onto the fact that she may have been overreacting and he didn’t really mean what he said was gone now and all that was left was the sadness of loss. And with his last words the flood gates opened and silent tears started streaming down her face though the cracks in her clamped eyelids. She didn’t dare make a sound or move in fear of what he would do.

The moment that the tears started falling, Julian sighed his stand relaxing as his hand came up to his face. Pinching the bridge of his nose, he closed his eyes taking a few deep breaths to calm himself. It took a lot for him to be this calm, his anger had already began to boil the moment Anna had started her fit about whatever it was that was bugging her. He still wasn’t sure why she had started acting like this but it seemed his approach wasn’t working that well. Tears were never a good thing and seeing them on Anna only made things worse. Resisting the urge to just groan and leave the room, Julian tired to think of how to fix the situation. For one, if he simply left, Selena would probably kill him for leaving her there on the couch like that, especially after she fell asleep on him. Rubbing his face, the young hybrid tried to think of the best way to approach this declining situation. It seemed he wasn’t doing that great right now.
His intention had been to show her what her attitude would be getting her. He never treated Anna like that before but if she wanted that kind of treatment he wouldn’t hold back. It was initially up to her really and given how she was acting it had seemed like a good approach. Problem was he didn’t really know how to handle kids at least not ones that age. The younger ones were far easier to deal with, give them some candy and they were golden. Teens or preteens as they were called were just far too much to handle. It was one of the reasons Julian was thankful he did not have kids. To him it was just far too much to deal with. ”Come on Anna, no tears, you know I’m not good with that stuff.” he told her his tone calm and nice. “You know I didn’t mean any of that. I just have no idea what it is that’s gotten into you or what I’ve done to get you acting like this.” he added hoping she would finally tell him what it was that had been done to start all this. This was not something he did and the odd way he had of apologizing wasn’t helping the situation either. Rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly, he sighed and looked down at the twelve year old trying to find a way to fix this mess. ”Come on Anna, what’s got you acting like this?” he asked curiously.

The world around Anna seemed to go silent and all she could hear was her shaky and labored intakes of breath as she tried with all she had to keep herself as calm and together as possible. If there was one thing she knew that no vampire in the coven wanted to see or could handle it was her crying. They would all have different reactions to it and Anna didn’t want to even know what most of them would be as she was sure the worst of them would be to kill her on the spot without hesitation. She was nothing but an annoyance and a toy owned by their master. Why should they think twice about erasing her for showing some unwanted emotion? Though, under normal circumstance, she never would have thought that Julian would have such a reaction to her. She knew that he wouldn’t like it, but he had always reminded her of her brother when it came to things like this and Randel didn’t take crying well either. Sadly these were not normal circumstance. No. Right now Julian was standing over her staring down at her as if he was ready to rip her head off for even annoying him slightly. He had a reputation for being a rather cruel individual. Something that was assuredly been beaten into him by the people he called family and his unusual state of being. He was a vampire and in such an existence cruelty is a natural progression. You are strong and powerful and a killer. Those things tend to affect and shape a person. Then you throw in a distant manipulative father and an entitled jackass of a brother and you are bound to come out a little jaded and cold. This was something that Anna had not seen until today and she hoped to never see again for it terrified her more than anything she had seen since the first time Tristan’s teeth had pierced her skin. She was so terrified in fact that she didn’t even noticed that the man had backed down at the first sign of the girls tear filled terror. It was obvious to anyone that may be looking on that he didn’t really want to hurt the young girl but to her it had seemed so real that she was convinced she could lose her life any moment. It wasn’t until she heard him speak again that she even moved.
Anna’s eyes shot open and she looked, her terror forgotten and tears quelled, into Julian’s face to see sincerity to match his calm tone. If he hadn’t meant it why had he done something to scare her so badly? It was he who started all of this. She was only following his direction. It wasn’t right for an object to treat a master with such familiarity right? Though, as the last words hung in the air Anna simply looked up at Julian confused. What did he mean? Did he really have no idea what he had said? Was he really that self involved in the situation that he didn’t even realize what he had said about her? She couldn’t decide what was worse. Him knowing he had called her a toy or him having done it in a moment without realizing and in turn revealing his true feelings. “You really don’t remember calling me your father’s toy at all. I thought I was just treating you how I should. It’s not like I’m my own person right?” Anna’s words came out with expert like position. They were polite and to the point. Not an ounce of anger in them. She simply made her statement and waited for a reaction. She knew he would see right through the calm words, but she didn’t care. A big part of her wanted him to feel bad and if he didn’t she would really know how he felt and she would never treat him as she had been again. She was leaving the ball squarely in his court.

When Anna finally told him the reason why it was she had been acting this way, the older man simply blinked as he tried to back track the events of what happened in the kitchen. To say that he didn’t remember anything that happened in the kitchen was an understatement really. His mind had been focused on the moment he had Logan pinned against the wall threatening him right there and then to kill him if he needed to. His rage had finally got the best of him and Julian didn’t remember much of his rational thinking in that moment. It had all disappeared as his animal instincts had taken over instead. They usually kicked into full drive when someone was threatening his life and it seemed they kicked in now when someone tried to hurt his mate. He would never be able to actually pinpoint the exact moment they had shifted away from being completely focused on his own survival to now include the well being of his mate. Maybe that was what happened when someone came into your life that you cared about. It seemed that Selena had influenced him in a much greater capacity then he had initially expected.
Staring down at Anna, he sighed and closed his eyes for a moment rubbing the bridge of his nose as he tried to think of the best way to approach this without causing more tears to fall. He really wasn’t someone that could handle a woman in tears it was just far too confusing and complicated because it seemed no matter what was said, he’d still fuck up the situation more. “Anna, I didn’t mean any of that. I was trying to make sure my mate wasn’t eaten alive by Tristan. Not only that but I wanted to push his buttons and make a point. If you have stuck around you’d have heard me calling Selena nothing but my human. It was a strategy to get him to back off. Do you know how much that simple word got me in trouble with her?” he asked nodding over to the younger woman’s sleeping form. He wouldn't have ever through he would be willing to go up against his family and any coven member in order to keep his mate safe. Hell never in a million years did he think he would have someone he actually gave a damn about. For a good portion of his life, Julian had always thought about nothing and no one but himself.
Who would have thought that one person could change all that about him. It was minding blowing to think about really. “Just because I used that term does not mean I see you that way. You should know that by now kiddo. I’ve never seen you as his toy and if I had I’ve have treated you like everyone else does but I don’t." Rubbing his face some more he bend down so he was closer to eye level with her now. “You know there are times that something’s need to be said and done in order for a situation to not blow up. Had I not said those things, who know what would have happened?” he tried to explain hoping she understood the situation. “I’m sorry if me saying that upset you. But just like Tristan wouldn’t let anything happen to you, I won’t let anything happen to her..” he added referring to Selena at this point his gaze glancing towards her for a moment.

Anna looked up at Julian with tears still in her eyes but her expression had changed. She no longer looked sad now she looked mad. Was he serious? It may have been selfish of her but she was thinking that Selena over reacted again and calling her his human was nowhere near as bad. If only Julian and the others knew how she protected them by not running. By not going home and telling her brother everything she knew he would interrogate her about. If she went home her family would sattle up every hunter they know and descend on the coven killing everyone within its walls be there human or vampire. The only ones they might spare would be the servants who were more slaves then anything else. They just didn’t get the same benefits as the actual slaves. And really she knew if her brother could see her now and listen to her speak about these people, or things as he would call them, he would probably never speak to her again. It was tragic but true. She turned her back on her family and the hunters that she came from the second she started caring about any of them. So for her being called a toy was far more than just being treated as an object. Being called toy meant that she had made the wrong choice. That she had turned her back on everyone she loved for nothing and that no one really cared about her. It meant she was alone; and the ides of being alone terrified her.
“I’m sorry Julian but no. I get that you want to protect her. That you love her despite her short fuse and quick to judge nature; but you have to understand. That word is not just a word to me. It’s a game changer and a life ender. I can’t explain to you why but it is. I know you think it was a necessary evil or whatever but I’m sorry that’s just not good enough. You can get mad at me all you want and I know you will. That’s just how I feel. If I really am being played then I turned by back on everything for nothing and no one.” Anna may have sounded far beyond her years but this was something that she had thought about a lot. She constantly wondered if she had made the right choice to stay. It wouldn’t be very hard for her to waltz right out the front door and leave. Tristan didn’t keep a tight leash on her or anything. She could easily go home if she wanted, but there were consequences to that. She thought for a moment and knew she was being unfair but she needed him to understand what he had done. She needed him to understand the danger in the pain he had caused. “I’m sorry Julian. I understand why you did it. I just don’t agree.” She stood hoping he wouldn’t get angry with her. Her eyes stayed locked don his never wavering no matter how terrified she was. This was one of those times she knew she had to stay locked on him and show no fear as if her life depended on it.

Noise. There was far too much damn noise! Selena only wanted a few minutes of silence. A few minutes to cam herself down, it was why she had fallen asleep in Julian’s lap after giving him the silence treatment. When she was feeling up to it, she was going to give her mate one hell of a piece of her mind about being HIS HUMAN. But right then all she wanted was to sleep. Was that too much to ask? From the raised voices it was. Slowly, she cracked her eyes opened just enough to realize her head was no longer in Julian’s lap and Anna had entered the room. It seemed she had finally snapped about what had been eating at her to make her leave the kitchen in a huff.
However, the words coming from the kid’s mouth was starting to sound like nails on a chalkboard to her, a never ending hum of white noise. Anna was trying to sound like she understood herself perfectly when she had so many years to go before she could even say without a doubt who she wasn’t. The kid might have been through some tough situations but she was not as self knowing or self aware as she tried to come off. Now Selena loved kids, honestly she did. She wanted a whole house full of them like she had when she was growing up but something about Anna really pushed her buttons the wrong way. Maybe it was the was the way she came off spoiled, as if Tristan had treated her like some toy dog he kept in his purse or maybe it was the snappy tone the kid was taking with Selena’s mate…either way there was no holding back her sharp tongue.
Sitting up, Selena flipped her hair out of her face to give Anna the full attention that she seemed to be crying out for. Her dark brown eyes glared at her before speaking up, “¡Cállate! El mundo no es un lugar agradable y cuanto antes te das cuenta de la posición que realmente estás en el mejor! No eres un vampiro que puede decir lo que quiere o hacer lo quiera. Eres una mascota a Tristán. Sé que no estoy en una mejor posición si nada tengo mucho peor.” It was best her words came out in Spanish. Safer. Jualian would know what she was barking about, Anna may or may not. Taking a deep breathing in, she licked her lips trying to come down from her explosion on the kid.”You talk about my quick to judge nature when you don’t know a damn thing about me. Next time you want to speak ill about someone make sure they’re not in the same room because it seems to me like you’re doing a little judging of others yourself.” Arching an eyebrow, she slowly stood up before turning to face her mate. “When you first spoke of Anna you called her a sweet kid that would be imposible to ever be mad at. Clearly you must have been talking about a different kid.”
Translation: Shut up! The world is not a nice place and the sooner you realize the position you are really in the better. You are not a vampire who can say what ever she wants or do whatever she wants. You are a pet to Tristan. I know I am not in a better position if anything I have it far worse.

Julian watched Anna as he let what he had just said sink in. It seemed that it really didn’t get to her because that speech her received wasn’t one he had expected. The only thing he could do was raise an eyebrow before he crossed his arms over his chest. His stance switching to a more defensive one as he continued to take in what it was she said. The thing that hit him the most was the last statement she said mentioning how she turned her back on everyone and everything for nothing. That simple statement threw some red flags up in his head as he took it all in. He felt that the rant was highly uncalled for and everything she was saying simply contradicted everything she said. It was clear she did not understand anything he was saying. His anger was still boiling on the surface and there was a great amount of things he wanted to say to her right now. Not only that but he was actually thinking about having a chat with his so called father regarding how much freedom he gives her.
Before he could even open his mouth to speak on the subject matter, a string of angry Spanish filled the room. Eyebrows shooting up into his hairline for a moment, Julian looked over to where Selena was sitting up now wide awake. He knew she was still somewhat pissed off at him and it seemed that anger was fueled into what Anna had just said. Sighing, Julian pressed his fingers against the bridge of his nose as he let Selena let it all out. At least this way there was far less for him to get later on. “She was a sweet kid. It seems during the time I spent away from the mansion Tristan spoiled her rotten. Seems that his influence has finally broken though.” he finally spoke referring to Selena’s last comment. He was still trying to think of the best way to tell Anna what he was thinking without blowing up on her. Granted he wasn’t sure that anything Selena had said in Spanish Anna understood. “If you really understood your reaction would have been different. Face it Anna your twelve and you know nothing about the world. You’re sheltered in a bubble and think because Tristan favours you that you are all grown up. You’re not and the real world is going to eat you up alive if you ever get to venture out into it.” he started before focusing his attention back on the young girl instead of on his mate. “Her short fuse is what I like the most. Makes her an interesting person and not dull, boring and the same as everyone else.” he added pushing some hair out of his face as he did this.
For a moment his eyes flashed red as the warning signals returned back into his mind about something she had said. “You’re entitled to your opinion Anna, but if you’re going to let a little word effect you like this, you’re never going to survive.” he added not having wanted to say any of it but Anna left him no choice. Not only had she insulted his mate, but she was threatening him as well. At least that was how he taken it. With that threat still on his mind, Julian took a step closer to Anna so he was towering over the young woman making sure she knew he was serious. “If you ever do anything to hurt my family I will make sure to hunt down everyone you love and care for before wiping them from existence while you watch.” he told her a bit of the man he had been before appearing again. It always did when he was at home in the mansion. “You have crossed a line Anna and lost any sympathy I had for you. This is the only warning you get.” he told her before taking a step back. He had wanted to keep her as his friend but she wasn’t having it and Julian wasn’t going to force it either.
