Mckenna had recently found out that Tristan was a bit more of a womanizer ( thats putting it nicely ) then she thought. It hurt - in a mild disgust type way - although she never showed it whilst in Tristan's presence. She knew she had no right to be hurt, hence why it was only mild, but she still didn't like it. She was thankful for being blind in those moments so she couldn't see what he was doing with all those women. Plus, so far she hadn't been awake whilst he was doing "bed stuff" with women so she had never had to hear him in action yet. Mckenna was relieved about that. Another reason why she was only feeling mild disgust was because she believed Tristan was way out of her league and too good for her. Why would he even notice her anyway? Still, the hopeless romantic in her at the back of her mind did still keep a small bit of hope that one day she would get her own happy ending with Tristan.
Today, the servant who brought her meal had shoved in the huge chunk of meat and forgot to lock the cell door properly. It was like fate was telling her to go for it. First she tore her dinner to bits, eating every bit of it in tiger form, so that she would have enough energy to change into animal forms to escape. She padded over to the door and easily pushed it open. She walked out of the cell before coming to a stop. She knew she would have to take a smaller form to sneak out without detection. A part of her didn't want to leave - the part who crushed on and was loyal to Tristan despite him having no knowledge of it - but the other part sought freedom and this part was a hell of a lot stronger. She had wanted freedom for years, and wasn't about to pass up this opportunity. Besides, ever since she had been captured she had been trying to escape. It had just become a habit that by now pushed down the guilt of leaving.
Her large feline form shrank to the size of a persian kitten. The orange coat faded to a chocolate brown, with the black stripes fading into the exact same colour, whilst her cat eyes were her usual colour she had in human form. With a fluffy long haired coat to keep her warm Mckenna would be prepared for the cold weather outside. Besides that, being such an expensive breed Mckenna knew it would make any who did see her want to look after her if they managed to catch her. It also would help her distract them for even beginning to think she was a shifter. It did come advantageous to Mckenna that Lycans were so well known that Shifters had become pretty much rare to non-exsistant, so most didn't know about her species. It was the beyond ancient vampires that Mckenna knew she had to watch out for - like the male who murdered her family and captured her.
Mckenna trotted up the stairs and out the ajar door before making her way to the foyer. It was just as she got infront of the large front doors she heard footsteps. She paused mid-stride and glanced over her shoulder. She sniffed the air and managed to identify the scent that was coming in her direction. A child. She had the scent of Tristan on her a lot though. She must be someone important to him. An idea popped into her head at that thought. She could befriend this child, this female, maybe gain a friend and perhaps end up bonding with Tristan as well. Maybe he likes animals? Then one day, when her and Tristan are close with her as his child's normal pet, she could confess to him what she really was and live happily ever after. Okay, that probably wouldn't happen but just the thought it could made Mckenna decide that was what she was going to do. Pricking her ears forward she padded in the direction of the footsteps and let out a pitiful meow, knowing the female would be more inclined to take her in if she sounded like she needed someone to take care of her.

Anna walked along the still lit halls of the upper level of the mansion in the silence. She hadn’t been able to sleep at all and had just about given up on trying. She was now hoping if she wandered about she could find someone to entertain her but so far had found no one. Anna had long since given up on running at these moments she found herself alone. There was something that held her here and if she did leave she knew what would happen. Her family would force her to tell them where the coven was and eliminate almost everyone in its walls. And though some of its residents more than deserved that, there were others that didn’t and it was those individuals that stopped her from ever running away. She had learned long ago that the teachings of most hunters are not exactly right on the true nature of a vampire. They may not grow up in a loving and caring environment but they do grow up and live just like anyone else. They make their choices and they live their lives. Being blood eaters is really more of a fact of their survival then who they are. People are not defined by the stereotypes of their station.
Anna was ripped from her thoughts as a soft meowing could be heard from the direction of the foyer. She was always too curious for her own good, so she walked off to investigate the intrusion on the silence of the mansion.
What she found was both expected and not. There sitting in the middle of the foyer was a small orange and brown kitten. It was fluffy and adorable in a way that Anna couldn’t help smile about.
“Oh no. Are you lost little kitten?” She leaned down to pet the small creature, “Well this isn’t a good place for someone like you.” She thought for a moment before attempting to nudge the cat in the direction of the door, “Come on time to go.”

Mckenna listened with curiousity, her head tilted, as she heard footsteps approach her. From the light weight of the footsteps and the innocence she could smell in the female's scent Mckenna could tell she was young. A child probably. She twitched her ears forwards as she felt the female's prescence directly infront of her with just mere inches seperating them. Mckenna memorised the female's scent and voice, filing them in her database so she could identify this female later. Her brain quickly worked, knowing she had smelt this scent around the place - both old and new. This child must be a resident. The idea hit her like a bolt of electricity. She had a crush on Tristan. She wanted to get close to him, give him a chance to know her, and of course give her a chance to repair the wounds he had suffered - to make him happy. Of course in her human form she knew she would not be able to get anywhere close to him. However as an animal... a pet... a real animal pet she could get close to him. Everyone loved pets whether it was a domestic cat, a dog, a fish, or a hamster. She could become the child's pet, and since she could smell Tristan's scent on the child - it seemed this child was in regular attendance of Tristan's prescence - it would be the perfect way to get close to Tristan.
What she didn't expect was being nudged towards the door. She may not be able to see but she could feel the wind blowing through the door into the home. She meowed pitifully, digging her claws into the no doubt expensive flooring before darting away from the door to stand behind the child's legs. She stepped closer to the child and rubbed her soft fur against the soft legs she found. Now, all she had to do was befriend the child and get her to keep her. Shouldn't be too hard... right? Mckenna thought as she faked a limp. She whined, faking pain and weakness as she kept her front right paw off the ground. Faking an injury was probably the easiest way to stay. It would mean she'd need healing, and so couldn't fend for herself. She just hoped no one was a vet or had any knowledge of healing. Then she would no doubt be screwed.

The kitten was so adorable as it tilted its head in confusion of Anna’s words. It was just a cat there was no way it was going to understand her. Anna noted that its eyes were had an odd glaze over them and she wondered where she had seen such a look before. There must have been something wrong with the cat if it looked such a way and Anna felt even worse about pushing it out into the world all alone. Yet at the same time being a mansion full of vampires was just as safe as being out in the world alone so young.
Anna felt a pull on her heart strings as the kitten ignored her proding and moved to stand next to her. She could feel it’s fur rub against her leg and she melted. It was such a sweet creature. It really hadn’t done anything to deserve to be all alone. And maybe if Anna asked correctly Tristan would… no she couldn’t risk the horrible fate that could await the little thing within these walls of stone.
She was about to pick the cat up and put it outside for its own good when the worst thing that could have happened in front of the 12 year old girl happened. The cat started limping and whining in pain. Anna’s heart melted at the site. There was no way she could put the poor thing outside now. There was no way it would even make it through the day. At least indoors she could protect it for a bit before something happened. She could surly nurse it back to health and let it go if she had to.
Anna knelt down and picked up the small creature. Cradling it close to her she finally got a good look at the odd eyes she had only seen from far above and it hit her what was wrong with the cat. It was blind. Yet another reason for her to take it in and protect it. “Oh you poor thing. I didn’t want to do this but you have left me no choice.” Anna turned on her heels and headed in the direction of her sleeping masters quarters to appeal to his good graces and care for her. She would beg for this kitten’s life if she had to but she would save it all the same.
Continued in Can I Keep It? Pleeease.
